Public Works

 The Public Works Department currently consists of  Kenny Williams, Interim Public Works Director, Cliff Custer, Beau Bullard, Steve Landers and Preston Lee. Each employee is required to test for water and waste water license from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. License renewal requires 30 hours of continuing education. Our employees are experienced with all facets of City maintenance.

Kenny Williams has worked for the City for over ten years .    He enjoys fishing and barbequing.
 
 
Beau Bullard is a resident of Richwood and has been with the City since 2009.
 
Steve Landers joined the Public Works Department in February, 2011.
 
The main emphasis of the Public Works Department is our water supply. The City of Richwood has three water wells, three storage tanks and facilities to purchase water from the Brazos Water Authority.   All three systems are inspected and samples taken daily. 
 
The City shares a wastewater plant with Clute and lift stations are monitored 365 days a year and are equipped with warning lights to indicate possible problems. Responsibilities include new taps, line repairs and clearing of obstructions. 
 
Other responsibilities of the Public Works Department include the monthly reading of over 1000 service meters, picking up limbs and heavy trash, mowing, repairing city facilities, patching roads, maintaining city equipment to include water and wastewater pumps and valves.
 
Code Enforcement, Building Inspections, Road and Drainage as well as Parks and Recreation fall under the Public Works Department. Our goal is provide an increasingly better environment to raise or families and work.
